Each time I boot, Windows Live starts and the MSN Today window pops-up. I want Windows Live but I can not figure out how to kill MSN Today. I've read other posts that say to go to Windows Messenger, click Tools and select Options and then click the General tab. But this does not seem to work with either Windows Live or Messenger. I do not see the General tab.

So, how do I get rid of the MSN Today window?

In Messenger Go to the Show Menu button, or the Tools menu depending on whether you are showing the menu or not. Then Click on Tools->Options

Go to the "Sign In" section and un-check the "Show Windows Live Today After I sign into Messenger" Option.

Thank you vacunita, but I still don't see it. I clicked on Start > Windows Messenger. Then I clicked Tools and Options. I went to each tab and did not see any that contain the "Sign In" section. Can you please provide more information on how to navigate to the screen that I need?

Who said anything about Start?

On the Messenger contact list window click on Tools then Options.

You'll get a Window with different options in a bar on the left side.

Click on "General" there, or on "Sign In", depending on your version of Live Messenger and look to the right area for the

"Show Windows Live Today After I sign into Messenger" check box and Uncheck it.

Ignore the red box, the option you want is underneath.

Thanks, that did it. The Menu was not showing and I missed the step you advised in the first place to click the Show Menu option. Thank you for your prompt response.

Glad I could help.
