Our company uses a workstation security tool to scan for any unauthorised software on users machines. One of our user's scan fails every time due to the fact she used to have WinMX installed. After uninstalling the program, all folders, files, and registry entries (ie a full search of "winmx" string in both registry and My Computer) associated with this program were removed, as far as we know. However, the security tool still fails the scan. There must be a registry entry, or files/folders floating around somewhere but we have no idea where. I have searched the internet for any possible solutions but so far no luck. So here's where you come in. :) Has anyone had a similar experience and if so, how did you fix it?

Any suggestions very much appreciated!

install a tool that tracks registry changes.Install WinMX, then you can see what is being altered in the registry.
