I have the newest flash BIOS for Tekram P6BX-A(n) Mainboard. The file has a .BIN extension. How do I use this to flash the BIOS for Windows 2000?
Thanks for the help

Look to the original website again. Usually the file creates a self-extracting floppy image to handle the BIOS upgrade.

In the alternative you could use the TFTP facility that is native to Win2k, but download from the manufacturer's web site some alternative to a pure .BIN image if possible.

Bios upgrades usually have a flash utility (eg, awdflash.exe for Award bios) that should be available from the same site the bios upgrade is on. Normally you put both on a minimal win98 boot floppy (or similar), boot the machine from that and run the flash utility. It should ask for the bios upgrade file name, and will probably prompt you to save old version. But manufacturer's site where you downloaded upgrade should have instructions.

some modern boards have the flash utility built into the bios.

wolluf is absolutely right.

There has to be either a seperate download of a special flash utility for the .BIN, or an all-in-one .EXE utility to do the flash.

This is one thing you want absolutely right.
