I'm using a progress bar wihin my application. This has worked at many sites. However I have one computer which ask the operator to pick a file (extension ocx) when this form is trying to load. How do I find out what file I need to register with windows to make this progress bar work?

ie regsvr32 ????????

In the VFP help file, look up the topic "ActiveX Controls Overview" - this lists the OCX file associated with the controls included with VFP.

Specifically the progressbar is in MSComctl.ocx. Note: This control is dependent on a number of system .DLLs, which may not be on the workstation (or it may not have the correct version). This is one reason why it's important to use a real Install program that can handle these details for you (rather than just copying around files).

Hello,

Think this is one of those examples of not choosing all the components required to be included in your setup disks. The second screen of the vfp 6.0 setup wizard has several check boxes. 'ActiveX' controls is one of them. When this box is checked, the wizard will give you a list of controls that may need to be included with your application. The progress bar is one of them. Anyway, what it comes down to is the fact that the setup wizard in vfp 6.0 is not smart enough to determine everything you might need without some help. But then, neither am I and I have been known to miss some. Check out the list it presents and see if you find what you are looking for.
