Hello all, I'm new in Zenworks and I need help.
We have a Novell 5.1 network with over 150 users, we use Zenworks 3.2 with apps, workstations and other policies in place the problem is that we have a Win 2k Server running Citrix MF XP, 30 users login to this server, the server has the novel client 4.83 sp2 installed so users can access the novell network but we want to exclude this server so no policies are executed when users login. for instance: a user login for first time and the ACU pops up requesting to install the ACU or the app launcher detects this is a new profile try to install promting the user to reboot the server, in othe words we dont want nothing to happens on this server but that the policies works only on the user's PC.
thanks .

You can get around the policy issue by assigning the policies to the workstation object instead of the user object.

For the NAL issue of launching apps when users login, use the LONG MACHINE TYPE Netware variable to restrict loading the NAL on Citrix boxes. If you have a command that loads the NAL dependent on one LONG MACHINE TYPE and then set your Citrix servers to another LONG MACHINE TYPE, the NAL will not load on the Citrix servers.

eg. Set your Citrix servers up with a LONG MACHINE TYPE = "CITRIX", then have the following command in the login script to load the NAL:

IF "%MACHINE"="IBM_PC" THEN
#NAL.EXE
ELSE
END

This will cause the NAL to load for all other workstations except for your Citrix boxes.

hi, thanks for the advice but what you are telling me is tha the server name has to be changed? right now the server name is UVXP SO WHAT U SAYING IS TO CHANGE IT TO A LONG NAME?
THANKS.

No, go into the Novell client properties, and find LONG MACHINE TYPE in Advanced settings.
