How to enter Products in MS CRM 3.0

Hi,
we have installed MS Server 2003 SP4, MS-SQL2000, Mobile CRM Client is installed with Outlook for a evaluation purpose. The problem: I can't enter a product. It looks that my login user has all necessary rights. There is no button like NEW or similar. In the navigation area is no option visible for settings (right-klick)
What are the prerequsits to enter products?
Any documentation about that? Any books recommended?
