Hi All,

I have NT 4.0, Exchange 5.5 runing on Backup Exec with Exchange Agent.

It backs up "Exchange Directory" and "Information Store" only. I does not do the brick level, OR individual email boxes backup.

Any idea how to make it backup either the brick level backup or the individual mail box backup?

Thanks, SJ Sebastian Jazzer

?

Information store is the mail database.
Exchange Dir is the usernames.
Edit the job list/s and add Exchange mailboxes. This is the brick level which is the same as individual mailboxes.

<<Exchange Dir is the usernames.>>

Yes, I am aware. But when I click on the little X to expand the usernames, it gives me nothing.

So, you're saying that I can alter the job and actually ADD the individual mailboxes? Hmm.. what a concept. I'll try it!

Jazzgeek,

Also, you need to install the outlook client (outlook2000) on the server that is running BackupExec. I also assume that this is the server that has Exchange? If this is a different server (a server that is not the same server that houses Exchange) then you need to install the Exchange Admin first and then install the outlook client.

You may want to research this website ==>
There are tons of articles on this common problem. I had this same problem and then after installing the Outlook client and the Exchange Admin I was able to backup mailboxes.

Good luck
