How to Disable Mobsync

Ok I have tried everything I can think of to disable mobsync. I went to start , program, acessories and undid everything in there to where it says There are no offline items to synchronize. I also turned off synchronizing in internet explorer. Then I unchecked it from msconfig. Restarted and guess what it rechecks itself as usual. I found the registry key for it but I did not delete it for i wasnt for sure if taking that key out if it would crash win2k for i know how picky it is. Anyways my question is how am I supposed to disable mobsync?

Delete it from the registry. Should be in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

I tried that, however it came back again. So any other ideas?

Try unregistering the mobsync from the cmd prompt using:

regsver32 "%systemroot%\system32\mobsync.dll" /u

This is an MS fix used to get rid of annoying event ID 4100 errors. Full article in KB 289650.

yeah thanks I really appreciate it and I actually finally figured it out myself. I forgot to undo it in folder options but once i did that it worked. anyways thank you all of you for your help its very much appreciated!!
