How can I disable my Dell laptop mouse (in WinXP)? I only like to use the USB intellimouse but with the other one on, every time I type and slightly touch it, it displaces the cursor. I already tried uninstalling it but it wouldn't. How can I turn it off? Thanks.

Go to Device Manager.
Highlight the device, right-click, disable.

I've tried that before, it only has the option "Uninstall" and not "Disable." I pressed "Unistall" and it said that device is uninstalled and I need to reboot the computer. I did, only to find out that the mouse is working as it did before. Any other ideas?

Go to the Dell site and download the Synaptics drivers for the trackpoint and touchpad. If you do so you can adjust the sensitivity of both device, as well as disable: the trackpoint, the touchpad, or both.

Similarly, my Dell Latitude BIOS offers under PS/2 to permit PS/2, or PS/2+touchpad. If you choose only PS/2 I believe the touchpad and trackpoint are disabled.
