Hello,

How can I disable the automatic windows update on internet explorer?

Tools---Internet Options---Advanced---(second option under Browsing)--uncheck Automatically Check for Internet Explorer Updates---Apply--Ok

Hello there...
First you can go to control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall MS Critical Update Notification.
Then open task scheduler (I am assuming you are using win98 and although I am currently answering from an XP system and do not have my 98 systems turned on), there is an option at the top (click on each word across the top) to disable task manager or something to that effect.
Anything you do, you can run manually such as the Windows Updates, system cleanups, etc...
