Hi everybody,

I wish to know if it is possible to disable the feature's button for an avaya IP Phone 9608 or 9630.
I use the latest firmwares.
My IPBX System is an IP500V2 7.0(5).
I tried to change my 46xxsettings.txt but nothing allowed me to remove or disable this menu.
I didn't find any configuration option in the telephony tabs (system) for this king of change.
The purpose of this request is to restrict the access to these features for some users.

Thanks in advance for your help

what is in there that the customer doesn't want people to have access too? Just give them an analogue phone!

Look better in to the 46xxsettings.txt:

################# OPTION ACCESS SETTINGS #################
##
## This setting restricts access to certain user options.
## OPSTAT is not supported on 96xx or 16cc SIP phones.
##
## When OPSTAT is set to 000, the user options
## are not accessible.
##
## When OPSTAT is set to 001, the user can only access
## the Log-Off Option.
##
## When OPSTAT is set to 010, the user can only access
## view-only options. The user cannot change any setting.
##
## When OPSTAT is set to 011, the user can only access
## view-only options and the Log-Off Option.
##
## When OPSTAT is set to 100, the user can access
## all options except the view-only options and
## the Log-Off option.
##
## When OPSTAT is set to 101, the user can access
## all options except the view-only options.
##
## When OPSTAT is set to 110, the user can access
## all the options except the Log-Off option.
##
## When OPSTAT is set to 111, the user can invoke
## any or all of the user options.
##
## SET OPSTAT 111
##

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Peter

OPSTAT only applied to 5600 phones :)

I read that differently

It works on 9630 H.323 phones (for me on a CM system)

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Hi peter,

I already tried to set the OPSTAT configuration to 000.
But the result is that it restrict only the "A" Menu access.
...

Hi mattKnight,
On IP Office system, Ip phone have a button to a specific menu and it provide an access for some features like call-forward, visual voice, disconnect user...etc
Communication Manager doesn't provide this kind of menu.

Hi hairlessupportmonkey,
Effectivly, I don't really understand why they bought this kind of IP Phone if they want to restrict the access to the basic features.

You will find a copy of my 46xxsettings.txt in attached file with this post. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

But the "A" button is the only menu.
The other "menu" are user options, nothing more.
You cannot restrict them using it.
Phone manager and One-X portal can also be used to change a lot of those settings.
It is part of the deal :)

Ill have to try the OPSTAT settings on a 96xx - but that wouldn't restrict the Features button options only the Menu Options button.

Matt i think he means the most right button of the four buttons right under the screen.
This button will show "features" when the phone is idle.

mattKnight,

I confirm that the entry "SET IDLEFEATURE" is not available on 46xxsettings.txt file for IP Office.

hairlessupportmonkey,

This entry "SET FBONCASCREEN 1" is not available as well in this settings file.

Anothers ideas???

You can disable the Forward menu thru the Manager.

User > Menu Programming > 1400/1600 > Untick "Include Forwarding in Menu"

ZabbixAgent, was does stop you from putting it in the text file?
Some features are not supported on the ipo but mostly they just work.
This features are designed for the same phones but on a different platform.
