Method for Windows NT/2000/XP

To disable C$,D$,ADMIN$ administrative shares on starup, set the follwoing registry keys and reboot.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Paramete rs\AutoSharewks=0 REG_DWORD
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManServer\Paramete rs\AutoShareServer=0 REG_DWORD

can't you simply remove the share on the drive....

Be careful though.... depending on your network there someone might have set up a application to run through it.. not a good idea.

Done! Thankx Castor66.

Whats the different between Dword and Bin?
Why it won't work in Bin seems that its only '0' ?

enbw: C$,D$,ADMIN$ administrative shares can't be disable in normal share. those share will be enabled after 'RESTART'.
