I am new to a already setup Windows 2000 Server with Exchange 2000. I am having problems & need to determine if Service Pack 1 and/or 2 have been applied to Exchange. How can I determine?
In the Exchange System Manager help info it says: Management console 1.2, Version 5.0 (build 2195: Service Pack 2) Is that referring to Exchange or Windows 2000?
Any help greatly appreciated.

If you have SP2 try installing it. Exchange will let you know if it's installed or not.

I don't have my Exchange server in front of me, but I believe that in System Manager, you can go to Administrative Groups - 'Group' - Servers - right click the Exchange Server in question and select properties. I believe it tells you which SP is installed here. Let me know if it worked or not. I'll have the Exchange server in front of me tomorrow if you need more help.

To fluid11 - Couldn't seem to find anything where you directed. Got any other suggestions? Thanks!

I'm in front of the Exchange Server now. I just verified that my instructions work. On the General tab of the Exchange Server's properties, it said this on top...

Version 6.0 (Build 5762.4: Service Pack 2)

What did yours say?

To determine your Windows 2000 SP number, right click My Computer and select properties. On the General Tab, you will see this...

System:
Microsoft Windows 2000
5.00.2195
Service Pack 2

You could always look at your outlook webmail ie

10.0.0.3/exchange or whatever ip is of your server

and check the look of outlook webmail if it says

microsoft outlook web access and the coloured square in the top left your using service pack 2.

Mine too says:
System:
Microsoft Windows 2000
5.00.2195
Service Pack 2

I thought that this referred to what version & Service Packs you have for Windows 2000.
ie
Windows 2000 SP1 released July 31, 2000
Windows 2000 SP2 released May 16, 2001

I need to determine what has been applied for Exchange 2000.
ie
Exchange 2000 SP1 released June 21, 2001
Exchange 2000 SP2 released December 5, 2001

Searched the Microsoft KnowledgeBase and the suggestion there was to make sure both SP are applied for Microsoft Exchange 2000 (Q301401)

Should I just go ahead & apply/reapply both Exchange 2000 SP's?
Any other suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Microsoft SP's are cumulative, meaning they include all previous SP's. You only need to apply SP2.

What does it say here....System Manager - Administrative Groups - 'Group' - Servers - right click your Exchange Server and select properties - General Tab?

Mine says...

Version 6.0: (Build 5762.4 Service Pack 2)

Re-applying a SP can't hurt (usually), so I would just reapply Exchange 2K SP2 if you aren't sure.

Sorry - forgot to look earlier. Mine says....

Version 6.0 (Build 4417.6)

Should have looked sooner. I will go ahead & apply SP2.

Thanks for all your help!
