What is the best way to create a voucher?
The voucher is going to be the size of a business card.
The only part of this voucher I am stuck with is that I want the voucher to have a number.

This number will start from 1000. I want 250 of these vouchers.
I am working on a voucher in word
It is very simple - All the text is written in a text box.
How can I insert the number starting from 1000 and each voucher to have a different number for example 1001, 1002, 1003 etc.

Use the envelop and label wizard. Select one of the business card labels.

Then use bullets and numbering from the format menu, and customize to start counting at 1000.

I am using MS Word. This feature is not support. I have tried it

Have tried many things.

Latest thing to try.

Created a simple Database with numbers starting from 1000.

So therefore 1001 etc.

Created a business card (same size as the voucher I want) in MS Publisher.

Want through a mail merge.
Added the numbers in to business card.

This produces the result I want. However when not print mode.

I want to print these business card/voucher multiple times on the same page so have selected multiple copies on the same page.

However when I do this it prints 8 same copies (same voucher number) on the same page.

so thus it has 250 pages (eg 1001 - 1250) - what I want is on each page to be printed the business card with voucher number to be different.

So page 1 - will have 8 business cards with voucher number 1001 - 1008 and not page 1 to have 8 business card with all 8 having the same voucher number 1001 and page 2 with 8 voucher number 1002 etc

If you want to go the mail merge route, add the number using Format > Bullets and Numbering then click the Customize button so you can specify the start number.

Then, of course, Update All Labels.

This definitely works - I tried it using Word 2003

-Why use a big word when a diminutive one will do?-

perhaps you would find it easier to put the numbers in Excel and use that for your merge source.

Yes i have use ENVELOP WIZARD, YES i HAVE TRIED LABEL wizard both do not do what I want.

250 vouchers the same size as business cards each voucher to have a different voucher number starting from 1000.

So thus voucher 1 will have voucher number 1001, voucher 2 will have 1002 etc...

I AM SO CONFUSED THIS SHOULD BE REALLY REALLY EASY?????

Again the bullet numbering system means I have to create 250 vouchers???? manually????

I have just tried surely there must be a quicker way? The amount of time I do --> format/bullet/numbering etc... etc..
I can type in faster????

Tools | Letters and Mailings | Envelopes and Labels ...

Select the Labels tab

Click on Options...

Select Avery 5773 Business Card. Click ok.

Click New Document.

Hold the tab key down until you have twenty five pages of business cards.

Control+A

Format | Bullets and Numbering...

Select a number format.

Click Customize. Type 1000 in the "start at" box.

It took me less time to do it than it took to type the instructions.
