I try to copy a part of a clip A, which has been cut into 2 pieces: A1 and A2. They are both "audio clips". A1 is laughing, A2 is talking. I try to copy A1 several times, then to put several A1's the one behind the other, so that there is a long laughing. I thought I can activate A1 (in audio2), then go to "copy", then to "paste". Before copying I set the time-indicator exactly at the end of A1, but after pasting I cannot find a copy of A1 anywhere. What do I do wrong?

Select the track before you paste.

If you are in Premiere Pro, it will paste at the edit line. In earlier versions onto the selected track up against the first clip in the active section.

You can find clips by searching for timeline instances out of the project window - method varies with Premiere version.
