We are currently running a personnel leave tracking DB. A new front-end executable has been released, and we would like to test it with a copy of our existing DB.

Is there a way to copy the existing DB, with its data, to a new DB (with a new name) on the same server?

Thank you,

Jeremy

do the backup and then restore as new database name in new server.

hope this helps

I want to copy it to the same server though. Is that possible? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

yes it is. When you do the restore, just restore it as a new name like TestLeaveTracking or whatever you want. Change the location of the the restore to what you want them to be.
