Having a devil of a time converting a 70 page document (8 1/2"X11) into a self-publishing book form.
I want 2 columns on each page, landscape, page numbers on each page.
Tried the bookfold option & view/footer/insert page number, but the pages don't print on each page.
Must also insert copyr. symbol.
Went to the help section, not able to accomplish what I want.

Hi,

Tell me what's not working.

I'm able to print a 4-page booklet (on a single sheet) with page numbers in header and it worked perfectly.

I'm running 2002.

The page numbers don't appear on each page. I am able to create the 2 column on a page; 2 pages in landscape. But when I insert page number, the page numbers are staggered.
For example the first page will have page 2 on one side and no page # on the opposite side.
Stuff like that.

Do not create your own columns. Just create a document as if you were going to print it in NON-BOOK format.

Then at Print Time, select the bookform option and Work does the landscape, column bit.

It's painless!

Of course, I don't know what the heck you just wrote. But thanks anyway.

Well, I am from Texas, but my response seems perfectly legible to me.

What don't you understand?

Hmmm, perhaps it would be better to state that:

Create your document normally, and when you are READY to print (Print Time), select File > Page Setup and under the Margins tab, set Pages: Multiple pages dropdown to book fold - not sure what book form is.

Word automatically:

- makes the document landscape
- makes each single (8.5 x 11) sheet into TWO pages
- rearranges all headers and footers appropriately for each page

Then simply print it. Word prints the document as if it truly is in book form. Ah....there you go. I suggest you try it out with a smaller dummy dicument so you can see what happens.
