Hi All,

How can I verify whether 1720(12.2(7c)) and 1721(12.4(1c)) router support VPN functionalities. I tried "crypto ?" on privileged mode but got "Unrecognized command". Does this mean these IOSes don't support IPSec? I know these routers don't have VPN module installed. Do I need to install VPN module to make IOS recognize IPSec-related command? Or do I need to upgrade IOS with VPN feature? or both?
I'd appreciate any help very much.
Dave

Do a "show flash" to list out the images on the flash filesystem. Find the IOS image you are running, and usually when an IOS image has crypto functionality you will see "K9" in the filename. If you tried "crypto" at the global config mode and it said "unrecognized command" then chances are your current IOS does not support it.
