How to check if an Excel File is already Open?

I can check if an Excel File exist but how can I check
if this file is open?

You wouldn't need to necessarily pull out who from either of the suggestions from that page. You also do not need to run that against a server... those examples will tell you if it is open or not and also can provide other information - which in your case would not be applicable.

You need a reference (Project Menu then References) to the ActiveDS Type Library.
