When I show diagnostic logs for a 2924M-XL the timestamp only shows the nearest day "11w0d". How do I set the log to show the complete time ? Also how do I get a more detailed error rather than "experiencing errors".
Example line of log:-
11w0d: %LINK-4-ERROR: FastEthernet0/1 is experiencing errors

try: service timestamps log datetime localtime
also: service timestamps debug datetime localtime

These are IOS commands, I'm assuming the'll work on your catalyst.

You're going to have to dig for the errors the message is alerting you to. A combination of sh int fa 0/1, sh controller fa 0/0 should do it.
