Hello,

At the end of the day, I usually turn off my computer (Win2K Pro) at work. Is there a way to schedule it to boot itself up in the morning? And how can I also do this in WinXP? (I know this is not XP forum) :)

Thanks much for your help.

The only thing that I can think of that would suit your needs and work correctly would be something like the christmas tree light timers... and then set your BIOS so that the machine turns on when the AC is turned on.. that way when the timer trips and sends AC to the system, the machine automatically powers up.

why don't you just leave your computer on.... just make sure you log out at the end of each day.

Or you can setup hibernation.. w/password protect..

Typically my users turn on their computer and then hit the coffee pot.. by the time they come back its good to go.. *shrug*

Thanks LloydSev.

I was hoping to get reply somewhere along the line of setting up a Scheduled Task to wake your pc up.

Is this doable?

Thanks.

No that's not doable since the machine is not running.. software would not be being interpreted by the CPU.. It would require a hardware solution when dealing with the machine turning on or off without you touching the machine to do so..

Even hibernating would require you to hit the power button.

After the game ,the king and the pawn , both go in the same box.

Thanks mobajwa for the tips. I've downloaded a couple of components & will test soon. They look very promising.

I'll post the outcome from these tests.

Cheers!
