I have to logon as administrator everytime I start my computer... is there a way to get my machine to automatically log me into windows whenever I power up the machine?

any help much appreciated

The easiest way is to download TweakUI, a Microsoft Powertoy:
In the alternative:
In Control Panel, double-click Users and Passwords. Click to clear the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" check box. Click the Advanced tab. Click to clear the "Require users to press Ctrl-Alt-Del before logging on check box."

Thanks for all your responses!

My machine now automatically logs on! Yahooooooooooooo!

I used TweakUI as suggested

For anyone who does try this, remember that you need to open TweakUI from the Program Menu
(Powertoys for Windows XP / Tweak UI)
as it does not appear in the Control Panel.

thanks again guys.
