We recently upgraded from Definity G3r v8 to 8700 CM v2.2 and love it.

I have a regular digital phone (6424) defined as station 1321. I've installed the Avaya IP Softphone 5.2 software and want to control my hard phone through the PC. The logon wizard is asking me for my station, password, and call server address.

Questions:

1) Do I need to change anything on my 1321 station record to support IP softphone with "Control of Avaya phone" setting?

2) Where does the password come from?

3) Call Server -- which IP address is this? I have multiple CLAN cards in my port network. We also have a CTI server with Avaya CT Connect 1.3.

4) Do I need to set up anything on any of the CLANs or anything else to make the Avaya IP softphone work? I am not using VOIP at this time.

I've already confirmed I have plenty of softphone licenses.

Thank you much in advance!

Bill
