Hi all,

Got a PIX 501 and a D-Link DSL-500 ADSL router set up in bridge mode (heaps of troubles with it in router mode, constant freezing etc). The problem is, it doesn't seem to appear as a device to the PIX. It has an IP address of 10.0.0.1, but I can't ping it or access it via HTTP. I'm thinking because it's set as a bridge, it's not listening to anything and just throwing out to the internet.

Anyone else have a setup like this and know how to access the modem?

Thanks.

If the modem is truly set up as a bridge, then your PIX would be receiving an assigned IP from your DSL provider. That IP would be fully routable on the Internet and totally different than the 10.x address you may have assigned to the modem. Hence, you could not contact the ADSL modem from your firewall.
