Hi we have a Windows 2000 Server running SQL 2000, this is a dual xeon box with 2.5Gb, now SQL is taking 1.7Gb (Sounds rather high), but I think that maybe SQL is just using whats avalible, but my main trouble is that CPU usage is running up at about 40% at all times (SQL is using both processors), what CPU usage is to much???? can a machine run at 40% at all times and still have no problems????

Thanks
Simon

If your CPU is constantly running at 80% usage or more then you have a problem. Anything less than that then no problem.
So sayeth MS anyway.

SQL will take as much RAM as it feels like but will usually release it back if another app needs some.
