How much Battery Backup do I need?

I need to know the power requirements for a new G3si CM and two S3400 servers running MM. I just want to run an APC Smart-Ups but there are so many of them I just want to ask the CDW salesman for help but I am sure he will ask me for the power reqirements. Does anyone have a link for this information?

I went with the APC products for my UPS. They have great support and products. It is nice when a UPS goes into trouble, it sends me an email. I can status it on line as well. Here is their link and power calculator.

I would shop your UPS. APC is very over priced. When I was on the BP side, their mark ups for resellers was 100%...meaning they sold me a UPS for a customer @ $300.00 and expected me to sell is @ $600.00.

There are a lot of good UPS companies out there. Find out who HP or Dell use. Auxilium comes to mind...

I recently saw a demo of the New Avaya UPS's and compared to the APC unit next to it, it was quite impressive--able to condition the power (step up incoming voltage) during brown out contditions much further than the APC, before kicking in the batteries. Presumably, this would increase the hold time and overall battery life in an environment that sees a lot of voltage sag conditions--something that we here in California have seen and are likely to see in the future. I cannot speak to any cost comparisons but you could likely get a good discount from avaya rep--especially if you have any major purchase's planned. THe avayaups web site has a very friendly calculator--I was up there recently. Good luck!
