How many simultaneous calls can a NAM handle?

I have an 0x32, "ver 3.0 / T1" software, 8 port fiber NAM, with DID numbers coming into it. The system is in CA; I'm in MA, and the tech in MI tells me that when it was installed the tech told him that it could handle only ONE call at a time into the automated attendant (which is using CCR trees, as near as I can tell).

Is this correct?? It seems to me like it should be able to handle 8 simultaneous calls.

Also, how can I scroll through the CCR tree to document it?

Thanks!

It should be able to handle 8 of the following combinations:
* Auto Attendant
* Person leaving a message in a mailbox
* Person checking their voicemail

Is there a Call Center in use?

Are you sure that it is an 8-port? Did you have them try F915 (or higher) to check the port status?

No call center, our documentation "says" it was upgraded to 8 ports last year, and I have not tried f915 yet.

I'm suspecting that it was only set up with one line for the auto attendant...

No, 8 ports means 8 simultaneous calls. Do you have Minuet ACD installed on your system. There is a Min/Max setting for channel usage when you have 2 applications on the NAM.

yes ...8 ports is 16 channels there are a/b channels for each port...4 ports is 8 channels,

Sorry, I wasn't specific. An 8 port VM means 8 simultaneous calls. He is talking about a NAM, after all.

Lugerlover is referring to copper connected VM, such as the Startalk, or Call Pilot. 1 station port connected to the VM yields 2 ports of voicemail.

Still wrong.8 ports means 16 simultaneous calls.If it's copper or fiber still the same amount of calls(ports).

My appologies, gentlemen. I guess it wouldn't hurt me to RTFM a little more often. Consider my crow eaten.

Thanks for the correction.

You can also login to F983, dial 44, then press the view button to see how many ports are installed.

As soon as I press the PORTS softkey, it's asking for a key. Is that the keycode, or a "standard" password it's looking for? I tried the 26.... pw but that's not it.

disregard that last post; I just talked to my boss and he says that he already checked and there are 8 ports configured.

But we still don't know why only one answers and the second call goes to system mailbox.

have u checked the Forward on busy settings of the ringing phones ? (hopefully just reception)

It should be blank.

Good news is though that if the second calls goes to a system mailbox, ure nam IS technically still answering so you are able to handle more than one call at once.

I guess make sure that lines 2 + are really programmed to be answered by the auto attendant.

Good luck.
