Hi all,
Just curious, how large the oracle database can be maintained in the windows base that you've ever known ? Please give me the information about the oracle version, windows version and the database size.
This is used for one of the oracle migration consideration from unix base to windows base.

TIA

Hi,
Large means many things..In actual bytes used to store data we have them in the 4-10 GB range on Windows 2000 and I am sure that there are 'bigger' ones out there.

If large in terms of simultaneous user connections and number of processes is what you mean, then the Windows versions have limitations when compared to Unix due, in part, to differences in the way multiple processes, multiple-threading and memory usage is handled.

The new Windows 2003 DataCenter edition is supposed to remove many of these differences.
