I'm trying to copy an exsiting system. The original system has the following header file installed $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/demo/oratypes.h

What part of the oracle install must I select to get this installed on my new box.

The system is Tru64 4.0F and Oracle 8.0.6 (old I know but not my decision)

MrMac,

What do you mean when you say you are coping an existing system? Why can't you just install software on your target system.
I belive (not very sure) it is used for OCI calls. But if can give us more details, may be we can find a solution for you.

Anand I'm actually writing a disaster recovery document, as such I have to presume that we have nothing but a bare OS and I need to write instructions on how to rebuild the system (also assuming backups are not available). As such I need to be able to install everything from the original media. The problem I have is I haven't got spare machine at the moment to perform an oracle installation and so asked here.

hope this makes the situation a little clearer.

When I red my post again I was horrid to see simple spelling and grammatical mistakes.
My English is bad as it is and typing faster isn’t helping it either.

Dagon is right. It is part of OCI PRO*C installation.

Hope this helps.
