our general manager is getting wireless sbc dsl, and wants to know if i can install his wireless card on his laptop.
never put a new card on a laptop. should i have someone else do the work?

if it is to be it's up to me

Buy the card and push it into the PCMCIA slot on the side of the laptop. Install software. (or the other way around depending on what the manual tells you to do)

Should be as easy as loading a floppy disk. Most PCMCIA cards are very straightforward.

Also, if the boss has XP on his machine, it will be even easier.

(okay with 1 or 2 more steps) :)

Hi,

If you want a greater range for your wireless laptop, consider using a USB one instead of the PCMCIA version.

One tip if your using XP, if you use the Belkin USB Network Adapter, then use the drivers off the CD, not off the web, they are causing me grief but hope to have it fixed this evening when I speak with Belkin Tech. Support!

Cheers,
Carl.
