How good is 2000?

Hi SQL experts,

I was wondering if anyone knows about good articles / reviews on SQL Server 2000. Our company has the choice between 7 and 2000, but is 2000 as good as 7? Any major bugs / problems known for 2000? Any other things to take into consideration on this matter? Thanks in advance.

My understanding (without having used it!) is that 2000 uses the same engine that v7 uses, it just has a few extra &quot;bits&quot;. They totally redesgined v7, unlike 6.5 so I would imagine that they din't change the base engine in 2000.

2000 is much better from a DBA/developer perspective: it has a lot of good innovations that are lacking in 7.0.

It is also faster than 7.0.

I think it's too early yet to get a decent buglist for it...
