How does the search on Tek-Tips work?

I really need to create a full-text search engine (like the one on Tek-Tips) that searches several fields of a database and returns the results in order of pertinence to the keywords used to search. I also need to have a selection box that filters out results if they don't match the category selected?

I can only use the SQL supported by ColdFusion Enterprise. I don't have SQL Server installed.

Please help me!
 
You need to look at Verity that comes with CF.
You create a Collection in your CF Admin, and use CFINDEX to populate the collections with data, and CFSEARCH to search the collections.

If you do not have the Ben Forta CF books, here are the links, I suggest you buy them right now, they will show you everything.
