When you use Windows Explorer in XP it splits the window into a list of folders, drives etc. and a view of the stuff inside the folder/drive you have highlighted.

This is done by default.

I would like to apply this same view to one specific folder that's saved on my hard drive.

I have to click the Folders toolbar everytime at the moment to get the folder list.

Anyone know how to set this to come on by default any time I open that specific folder?

Try [Tools], [Folder Options]. You probably want [Classic Folders].

Then customise one folder the way you want it, and choose [Apply to all folders]

Thanks anyway but found I have to edit the target in a shortcut to get the view.

C:\Windows\Explorer.exe /n,/e,/root,,/select,"C:\Foldernamegoeshere
