Hi,

I have Windows 2000 Professional. When ever I want to log off and let the other user log in the modem disconnects.

I never used to have that problem until I reinstalled Win2000 Pro. How can I prevent my modem from disconnecting the line when logging off or switching users?

Thanks

Everybody should use AntiVirus! Are you protected now?

Mudassar,
When you created the DUN connection did you specify that all users can have access to it? If not, try removing it and creating a new one - giving anyone the right to use it. I use Windows 2000 on a network (without a modem) and I don't recall exactly what the window looks like, but I have seen it on a pc that I that I installed Windows 2000 on with a DUN connection previously. There is a prompt or check box where you can make the connection available to all users.

Are you on a Novell network? If you are, look at the properties of the D.U. Networking connection you use to dial out, you may want to only have TCP/IP checked off...that's how I take care of the same problem with Novell and Win95, but I guess that would depend on what type of connection you're making with the modem and whether or not you're on a Novell network. Just a thought...

:)
