How do you make smoother shapes?

Okay so I am tierd of making nav bars and the curves and some corners are jaggerd like the Tek-Tips nav bar on the
left here. So what is the way to get smoother curves and corners?
Spyderix... if you read this then have alook at my transparent background post as I am looking for a bit of help from you. Tried e-mailing you but no go. It came back.

Hi,

The way to get smooth edges and corners is to make sure that the object is anti-aliased. Check out FAQ229-1920.

The other trick to getting anti-aliasing to work properly is to add part of the background color or background image that the image will go on.
