I have set up a roster for the front desk at our office. This way the receptionist can keep track of where the employees are and when they are returning, along with having their extensions handy. This is also a set up where the rest of the admin department can view and make changes as needed. In one portion of the form there are two check boxes. One for IN and one for OUT. I want it to only have one checked at a time. I.E. if I click IN, the OUT box unchecks itself.
How can I do this??

Hi

You do not put the option buttons on the form individually, you use the frame control from the tool box, with the wizzrd set on, it will take you through creating your frame with the two option buttons you want.

It is the frame which takes on the value, thus there is only one value

try the wizard, it is easier to do it thatn to explain it, believe me! Regards

I don't see frame control. All I see is bound/unbound object frame.
I guess you lost me.

Hi

Its called an Option Group (not unreasonable since that is its correct name) in the toolbox, its icon is a rectangle with XYZ at the top. Regards

Well that worked up until I tried to select one of the options. It won't select either one. I don't want a default selection... so I chose that. I thought that might be the problem but I changed it and it still won't let me select either one.

Hi

I have just run through it here, works OK

What do you mean by 'it won't select either one', just it just not select, or is there an error message

Are your controls bound

you have seperate values for each option button (eg 1 , 2 say) Regards

No error messages. I click on the In option and it doesn't turn black, same result when I click on Out. Yes, In=1 and Out=2.

Hi!

Check the forms AllowEdits property. This must be set to yes to be able to manipulate an option group.

I used option buttons on a form, and I couldn't select them. It took me a while to figure it out. Check your field in the table. It needs to be a text field, not a Yes/No field.
