Ever since i've seen the fortune cookie lists ( like the bofh cookies, the old english cookies, etc etc) i've always been interested in making my own "cookie file".

Problem is, i've looked around but i've never been able to get some kind of "formatter" for the fortune program. I've also tryed to format it by hand, but it didn't work.

You got an hinsight i could use on this?

The following is a fortunes file I have have used in the past.

Basically the calling function looks for a line at a time, therefore the fortune does not end until a new line is seen.

yeah, but what about the formatting? when i cat a fortune file, i get % characters to separate the cookies. Yet when i try it that way, it doesn't work.
