How do you format a 'memo'?

Howdy all

I'm set up a database, and have memos that contain lots of information ie over 255 characters.

However, I'd like to know how to format text in a memo ie just a simple paragraph. (Like this one!)

Is this possible with a memo, or will it have to be something totally different, like linking to a .txt file somehow?
