I have a client that wants to forward the main line to an outside answering service during off hours. They would like to have it happen automaticaly at a specific time of the evening and then revert back to normal in the AM. They have a MICS 6.1 and a PRI.

I would appreciate some guidance.

There is not an easy or designated way to do that....but

off the top of my head you could implement an automatic ringing service for a phone where the line rings (making sure to set up the service so that only that line is effected.)

Then, designate a spare phone, like one in the phone closet to be the member of that ring group. Have that phone in the closet always forwarded to the off site number via routing with Feature-4.

Then, when the ring service becomes active via the scheduling, it will cause that phone in the closet to ring, which will already be forwarded off site, thus achieving your desired result. When the service goes off in the morning, the forwarding will stop.
