How do you create chat rooms

hi can any one please tell me how to create a chat on your site and if theres any programs which will allow you to this in? Thanks

You can do it with CGI where you write the chat room to a file or database, or interface to an IRC server running on your system. Or you can use Java. There are shareware and commercial programs written. Check cgi.resource-index.com and internet.com.
