How do you convert a CSV file to XLS in VB6?

Hi all,

I have a need to convert a plain simple CSV file into an Excel spreadsheet using VB6. I cannot guarantee tha EXCEL will be installed on the PC running the app, so opening the CSV in Excel and Save as Excel Spreadsheet is not an option.

Any clues?

If you want to do this without the Excel engine, you will need to look deep into the .xls file format

warning: low level file construction can seriously give you a headache!

Has no-one written a little DLL that does it? Hmmm? Pretty please? OK - I know it's an obscure question...
