I know alot of you guys out there have been using the IPTel file server for years, but I've just come across it. Can anybody out there give me some simple instructions on how to configure it for an IPO? I've found the reference manual for it but I'm just not getting it. Maybe I'm not data savvy enough. Any help would be much appreciated!

What ipo on what version do you have ?

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Thought that.
why do you want to use a server when the ipo can do it itself!

I got the impression from the things I've read so far that it can handle alot more simultaneous downloads and at a faster rate. Is this correct? Or is it not worth the time?

Depends.
In the past the ipo could handle 5 simultanious connections at one time but now that is 384 so that is not the problem.
Also speed is not a problem at all.
The app is more used for a CM whe there are thousants of phones are used.

I knew that the IPO could handle more simultaneous downloads, but I didn't realize it had gone that high. I don't work with CM, so I guess I have no need for the MV_IPTel. Thanks for the info.

You can use it but there no more need for it :)
I have used it in the past for mixed type of phone's
Also in the past the ipo could not handle http which it can do now.
So another reason for not using MV_Iptel :)

Yeah, not sure it's needed for v2's but with v1's at the moment there is an issue with current R5 and R6 firmware that sends 5621's and possibly other phones into boot loops when using flash cards as TFTP or HTTP server, it basically cuts the download off several kb's short of the full bin file and the phone just downloads it over and over. I haven't tested with a v2 yet :)

I've just bought a brand new car and on the way out of the dealership the engine seized, they want £2000 paid in advance to look at it which they will keep if they can find a way to blame me for it......Remind you of anything :)

Andy,
I have had that issue using IP_Tell and manager as well. i dont think it is the TFTP server thats the issue.

Perhaps it is an issue with the delivered files within the admin cd ?

No it can't be, as if you set Manager as the TFTP server so it is HTTP relay from the system it takes the same file but boots correctly :)

Sorry, I posted that before seeing the other responses, perhaps it is the bin files, but as I say when the phone doesn't work from card the same file from Manager does work, at least in my experiance :)

Funny thing though sometimes in the boot loop it says downloading filename.bin other times it just says ,.bin (comma.bin) as though even the name is now corrupted somehow :)

Is it perhaps a bad 46upgrade.scr file ?

Not sure, there are so many possible variables I haven't tested all as yet, sorry to derail the thread OP :)

Is this the case for V1s running 6.0 or just for v2 units?
