I have seen some flash sites use images or video in such a way that the images run like a video and are given a photoshop "duotone or tritone" effect.

I think it is an awesome effect and would like to know how to do that and how much work is involved.

Thanks in advance for any help! Rninja

Thanks for the URL oldnewbie. I didn't get to see the "merilyn" model, but I did read it.

I have one question. How do you atually make the video effect? I actually have to make a video sequence into gif frames or what?

Thanks again for the info. Rninja

To get the frames in in the first place the easiest thing to do is have your video as a QuickTime file. You can import this directly into Flash and then export it as a sequence of images: Flash splits the video up frame by frame and turns each one into a bitmap.

You can mess with these bitmaps in Photoshop or Fireworks to create the duotone effect (or just leave them as full colour like in the Toni&Guy site) then reimport them into Flash and use them like a keyframe animation. The file size can get really big really quickly though...
