How do I wipe a 1721 Router 1

I've been given a router to setup that seems to have been half 'bodged' already and I need to clear it down so I can start from scratch. Can anyone help a router novice!!

To completely clear the configuration, issue these two commands:
"write erase"
"reload"

The first erases the configuration, and the second reboots the router.

Thanks for that. Can you point me anywhere to help me set this thing up. All I want to do is make this a new subnet router. It has a second card in it.

When it reboots it should come up with a setup dialog to step you through a basic setup. You can also check Cisco's web site for sample configs, and the web has a variety of them as well.
