I'm using XP Pro, which apparently doesn't come with cdonts.dll as standard. I downloaded cdonts.dll and "registered" it successfully (at least I got a box which said it was successful).

How do I set up IIS so that CDONTS will work properly? I have an icon that says SMTP Server in the IIS window but don't know what I'm supposed to do with it! I assumed that registering the .dll and running the script was sufficient, but I'm getting error messages that relate to the first line of the CDONTS part of the page, so this is obviously not the case. I'm a total newbie with both ASP and IIS, I'm afraid.

Many thanks.

so you haven't tried a CDONTS MAil script yet to test it?

There is a CDONTS example in this FAQ in the ASP Forum you
can try
faq333-2962

there are also numerous examples and ready to process scripts online. try a search for CDONTS ASP and you should get quite a few

Yes, I have already tried a script - that's what I meant when I wrote that I'm getting error messages when trying to view the page via IIS. I've tried viewing both the original script and my amended version and am getting the same problem with both in that it doesn't seem to recognise CDONTS.
