HOW DO I RETRIEVE MAIL FROM CRASHED EXCH SERVER

My server crashed. Exchange services would not start including Information store and System attendant. How can extract mailboxes/mail from the store files. Is Exmerge useful to me in this scenario.

You cannot run Exmerge on a dead server, copy the priv.edb and pub.edb to tape and rebuild the server using exactly the same settings everywhere.

Look for migrating exchange to new hardware in FAQ or on M$ technet.
