Running Win98SE. Don't want others to be able to get into the computer at all. When 'puter is turned on, it goes to a password screen. But all a body has to do is click cancel, and Windows loads up anyway. I want it where if they don't know the password, they ain't gettin past that screen.

Hope that makes sense! Thx in advance.

If you don't want anyone using your machine at all, then the only way is to use a POST password - (set up in your bios settings). If you just want to keep others out of your stuff, there are several programs out there where you can password protect folders and files.

Just make sure that you don't forget the password(s) that you use. Otherwise, you'll be S-O-L!

There's always a better way...

You could also consider a mobile rack ($20-30).

Thus you could mount your hard drive as removeable storage. That would would give you physical access control at all times. Others could use the same computer but with a different rack mount and HD.
