How do i remove the Windows is hutting down splashscreen?
I want to remove it not replace it

Navigate C:\Windows\Logow.sys

This is the 'Windows is shutting down' graphics file. I suggest you cut/paste it to a safe location in case you wish to re-instate it, or simply rename it to, for example, 'oldlogow.sys', as this also will prevent it from being displayed. My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my rather limited knowledge. Andy.

Hi Bruno2000

Why not replaced those boring splashscreen from MS.

Here is how you can go about and do it.

Take any .bmp file reduce it to a size of

Width 320, Height 400

then reduce it to 256 colors

lastly save the file as
"logow.sys" (for the wait screen) or
"logo.sys" (for startup) and
"logos.sys" (for shutdown)
**includes the quotes when saving.

You can do all these with any graphic editor. I use MS Paint.

Placing the filename between quotes is to force it to save to a specific extensions (in this case .sys)

Happy editing :)

or if you are using Windows ME, you should just create a black screen and save it as logos.sys [deejay]

Does anyone know what the files are that you change for Windows 2000 for this?

Thanks
