OK, sounds simple, and it probably is, but there is a small twist.

The entire document is in landscape. The first (title) page has a title that is centred horizontally and vertically on the page. The subsequent pages have 2 columns on each page.

This means that there has to be a page break after the first page to accommodate the need to centre the title, but to have columns on the subsequent pages.

I have added page numbers and selected "Different First Page" from the page setup menu. I have also started the page number for the entire section, for one section or from various points in the document.

I have also used different page breaks (next page, continuous etc), but all cases, result in a page number appearing on the first page (even with the "different first page" option checked).

Any suggestions?

Make sure the header/footer for the second page is set as Same as previous = False. If the second page has Same as previous it will populate the previous header/footer (ie. the first page) with whatever it has.
