Hi All,

I'm trying to help one of our sales agents with a printing problem.

Problem:

Trying to print from a QBasic Program designed to print to a locally connected Dot Matrix Printer with a Standard Generic/Text Windows Printer Driver --- Instead our Agent is trying to print to a locally connected HP Laser Printer
(HP LJ6P).

Question:

Does anyone know how to make a Locally connected HP Laser Printer (HP LJ6P) think its a Generic/Text Printer?

Or if someone knows another way around the problem outside buying a Dot-Matrix Printer or significantly altering our QBasic Program it would be appreciated!!!

I do it regularly with IIP and IIIP. Just a matter of writing to the port. But there are some gotchas. Page length is 60 and width is 80. And you probably would need to set the printer up as IIP emulation.
There should be some help in the printer manual regarding DOS printing, which is what you are trying to do. Ed Fair

You might try the HP website for some guidance. Ed Fair
